Glitch ROck evolution

Time to Glitch your ears into the Future!

BIO

iLLafent is pioneering a new sonic frontier they call Glitch Rock — a fusion of punk energy, rock riffage, and futuristic sound design. Fronted by guitarist and vocalist Vic Hightaian, alongside drummer Kyle Mueller, the Los Angeles-based duo channels the rawness of bands like Blink 182 and Muse, layered with the heavy atmospheres of NIN and Tool.

What sets iLLafent apart is Vic’s invention: the Glitch Guitar — a custom-built instrument designed to generate wild, never-before-heard sounds. "I've imagined this guitar since college," says Vic. "Now it’s real — and it’s rewriting how we think about the electric guitar."

Originally from St. Louis, the two connected in classic Craigslist fashion, bonding over a shared love of rock and reinvention. With most bass and synth elements delivered via backing tracks, their two-piece live show feels massive, explosive, and unrelentingly modern.

The upcoming debut EP, Glitch Rock Evolution (dropping Sept 5, with pre-saves starting Aug 15), is a mission statement: a bold blend of distorted guitars, glitchy vocals, and outer-space textures. Thematically, the EP touches on life’s highs and lows, wrapped in a cosmic cyber-rock aesthetic. “We’re trying to start a new rock revolution,” says Vic. “Something no one’s heard before — but still rooted in the emotion of real life.”

With a name that nods to a “very kool elephant,” iLLafent is charging forward — ready to shake the foundations of modern rock and glitch it into the future.
